WIP Wednesday - New Quilt Started

I started a new quilt recently.

Electric Quilt Sketch

Fabrics, some from stash

I created a Flying Geese block in Electric Quilt

Extended the seam lines at the point.

Cut out the block, notched out the top.

Rubbed tailor's chalk (see below) on the notched area, leaving the white chalk triangle.

Used chalk to extend lines to the corners

Red square

Cut diagonally

Trying out placement

Pinned through layers along seam line.

Folded back, seems okay.

Sewed along seam line.

Pressed

Second triangle sewn

Trimmed

Four units laid out on design wall

This fabric has been in my stash for a long time.

Looks good.

Squares sewn to sides

Flying geese sewn to center square

Sections laid out

Block sewn together

Five blocks

I'm setting aside this project temporarily to work on another more pressing quilt. I'll come back to it soon.

    1. Thanks, Barbara. These are the centers of larger blocks. I'll start working on the quilt again in a week or so, after I finish another more urgent project.
