WIP Wednesday 5/7/2014

This week I've been working on a quilt for co-worker Darlene, who likes camping/outdoors and the color purple.

Four patch units in autumn colors

Previewing purple background

Better view - I like the combination.

Strips added to sides of four patch units
Note rows 3 and 4 (from the top) are nearly identical. I used a piece of dotted scrapbook paper to create a new pattern for my Organized Chaos. Rows 3 and 4 turned out to be identical. I changed the fabrics a little for variety.

Swapped out rows 4 and 5, so now the similar rows aren't directly on top of each other. I like it better.

Another preview of the purple background

Horizontal strips added. Quilt top is now in 25 large pieces.

I plan to sew the quilt top together in the next couple of days. I'd like to finish the quilt over the weekend and deliver it early next week.
